1980

The week following the leaving of Rev. J.C. Hibbard, his wife, Nell Hibbard assumed leadership as Senior Pastor. Soon, the Lord sent a minister to assist Sister Hibbard and serve as a right hand and Associate Pastor. Pastor Gregg Headley and his wife Joy joined the church staff in 1983. Rev. Hibbard and his wife, Nell left a great legacy to The Gospel Lighthouse, that of a strong and sure foundation.

1984

Soon after Pastor Headley had joined the staff as Associate Pastor in 1984, The Gospel Lighthouse expanded its ministries to include Gospel Lighthouse Christian Academy. Committed to excellence in every detail, the school began with kindergarten through the 3rd grade. It continued to add one grade each year. Students were taught academics from a biblical perspective and were taught to love and honor God.

In April 1987, Pastor Headley was elected Senior Pastor. It was a beautiful transition and the congregation of The Gospel Lighthouse rejoiced for God's faithfulness for sending them a man of character, faith and vision to lead them forward.

2012

Pastor Luis Salazar began serving theLighthouse in October of 2012 as the Youth Pastor and then transitioned to the role of Family Pastor. Pastor Salazar, who has been in ministry for over 18 years, is a graduate of Master's Commission and is an Ordained Minister with the Assemblies of God. He has a strong desire to see all cultures and all generations serve the Lord. He also has a passion for evangelism and discipleship and believes in the power of community involvement. He and his wife, Leigh Ann, live in Duncanville, TX and have two daughters, Laila and Laci. He works with an incredible team of dedicated people at theLighthouse.
